Its Thursday Weekly App Selection 02 by PhonAsia
First things first, lets begin with some games.
Game Selection
Rymdkapsel (3.59 €)
The developers present the game as minimalist as it get but dont get misguided. It is a strategic kinda, sorta tower defense. You build a ship, you can assign jobs then you can expand your ship by recruiting more workers in order to defend yourself against waves of enemies that become stronger with time. On top of pushing back enemies from your beloved space ship, you have to manage several resources as well.
The game can get frustrating during the first runs since you need to learn a few things that are not well explained but you get quality time and it is worth your money.
Beach Buggy Blitz (Free)
It is a Mario Kart like game. Racing with karts and multiple bonuses to win as unfairly as possible. There is also a multiplayer mode and it is free, you have no excuse to, at least, not try the game.
News
News Republic (Free)
There are lot apps that can do what News Republic (NR) does but not nearly as pleasant as NR especially on Tablets. Basically, it is a RSS hub and you choose the themes on which you want to informations (sports, politics, high tech, etc...). It is so smooth, so beautiful on tablets, you just cannot miss this app.
Utilities
I find often that people underestimate how important are utilities especially during the holidays season. You might be cut off (or partially) of the world or your habits and you need to perform some tasks. Well, here are your utilities apps !
Evernote (Free)
If you do not have this app, download it now. This is the most powerful notes app. It allows syncing between almost every OS (Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android and Windows Phone), so you can check your notes from anywhere while you might have originally taken them on your computer.
Helium (Free)
This is a must have in case you are changing phone or upgrading one through a custom rom or an official one. You can make back ups of your apps and data of your apps as well without root (but easier with root). Titanium Backup can already do that but it is much much more user friendly.
Helium can also save your back up in the cloud (Google Drive or Dropbox) and use them on an another device (new or different like a Tablet) but this feature requires a in-app payment.
The video is the official tutorial made by the dev team.
